Roots and Shoots??? Can you say again what are you working for??

Yup the company that i have changed to now and is happily working at now is called Roots and Shoots... what is it?

Roots & Shoots is a youth outreach program started by Dr Jane Goodall – the world- renowned primatologist. She is the world's foremost authority on chimpanzees, having closely observed their behavior for the past quarter century in the jungles of the Gombe Game Reserve in Africa, living in the chimps' environment and gaining their confidence. Dr Jane will be coming to Shanghai in Oct, and I think she will be the first world famous person i get to interact on a personal level with.

Roots & Shoots is an environmental and humanitarian scheme for young people- from the kindergarten to university level. It is designed to involve members in hands-on activities that will benefit the environment, animals and the human community. It has grown from a group of 16 secondary school students in East Africa and has now grown to over 1,000 registered groups in 64 countries. As for myself, i am working in the Shanghai Branch.

Currently, in Rooty Shoots, i have and am involved in the following projects:

1.RSPCA animal welfare training workshop
2. Organic Garden
3. Eco-office evaluation programme.


My NOC programme only lasts til Dec, but I am thinking of staying on till Next June. This is because i want to ensure that the 2 pet projects that i am doing: Organic garden and Eco-office can carried out for an entire school year. This coming Sep-Dec semester for me try my model, and the next semester from Feb - June for me then to apply the perfected model.

Trust me, i don't like Shanghai environment. I just want to treasure this chance that i have to really make a difference for the environment.
